I like taking my dog for walks, but it has become more difficult since we moved away from the city. There aren't any sidewalks here, and it's just too difficult, especially since I have to bring my four year old with me,it gets complicated trying to watch both at the same time, and watch for cars in both directions. I kind of only went a couple times, and then gave up.
We recently received the
Hands Free Dog Leash For
Running by Friends on Run. We were very impressed. We have a 40 pound German Shepard /wild dog mix with high anxiety. Due to this he is consistently attached to my hip as I am his pack leader and the female of the group this is very common in wild dog packs. He is a great listener and follows orders well but often becomes concerned by people passing and if he sees them as a threat. On the advice of our trainer we decided to try a
running leash so I would have my hands free to chase my toddler and Lobo would be an arms reach away so that his anxiety would be much lower. We have tried three other
running leashes that all fell apart the first hike we went on.
Just wrap the belt(kind of looks like a collar) around yourself, and it is adjustable. Then add the leash to the dog's collar, and clip onto the belt. I just took her around our house area to get the feel of how the leash would work. It keeps her close, and I don't have to worry about holding the leash, which is great,so I can focus more on my child, instead of if I drop the
leash,she's running off.
So when I received this
leash those were the first things we looked into and I was pleasantly surprised. The material is a thick and heavy duty canvas type material and all of the stitching seems to be reinforced which is a double win. I was also pleasantly surprised that the metal pieces are much thicker then others I have seen. So far we absolutely love it!
